Meet the Maker
Ahona Mukherjee (*2001, India) is a miniaturist, designer, and artist. She has been building miniatures for over a decade, ever since she first discovered the joy of creating small worlds as a teenager.
Although her interests often lead her into different forms of artistic exploration, miniatures have remained at the heart of her practice. Drawn to hands-on making, she enjoys combining traditional craftsmanship with digital tools and works across miniature-making, sculpture, set and spatial design, and research-driven projects.
Her practice presently draws from both personal recollection and collective memory, and work explores the quiet narratives embedded in ordinary places and routines. Through detailed miniature environments and hand-crafted objects, she is working on recreating everyday spaces and fleeting moments, allowing small-scale worlds to hold larger social and emotional meanings.
Trained as an industrial designer from the National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh, India, she is currently pursuing her master’s diploma from the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln in Cologne, Germany.
